We weregoing with it exactly in fact this isour fourth event on the lessons now tourand we’ve we recorded all four of themand we’re not really sure what we’regoing to do with it and I say all thatto say I like to turn the noun into averb you ask me how did I know to say Iwas a Nice I’m Dreaming Of A Redneck Christmas sweater writer I didn’t and I still don’tand the truth is I’m really passionateabout writing and I’m not passionateabout being a writer I’m passionateabout the actual activity and I knowwith Matt and we also have Conrad overyou he’s under you’re filming as welllet’s give him a round of applauseKonrad is a crazy talented filmmaker andwe are just so lucky to have both thesethese guys on the road with us for thisbut what what I would have learned isthat it’s about doing these actions andyou know what that documentary is 79minutes long but we had over 2 000 hoursworth of footage so there’s a thousand999 hours out there somewhere that nevergot used and it was much more aboutdoing the work and then once you do ityou’ll figure out like there are piecesthat work. Had a Film Festivalversion of the film that went aroundthrough a bunch of film festivals andsome of you may have seen that it was anappreciably different version from thefilm and we fought with Matt repeatedlyabout all the changes that were madebetween that film in this film and Ithink all of our fighting finally made ahe pushed back on us a lot basically butit made it made a much better film thanwe had before we had a really good filmand I feel great about the perspectivesthat that we were able to put out thereand really share a bunch of differentrecipes in hopes that you got value andfrom at least some of them and I knowthat your life probably doesn’t lookexactly like any one of the lives inthere when I first discovered minimalismmy life didn’t look like Colin writes itdidn’t look like Leo’s it didn’t looklike any of the the minimalist who Iadmired and I knew I wanted to create myown recipe for minimalism and that wasour hope was to deliver that to you in away that made minimalism a little bitmore palatable a little. Through a few of thosereal quick we built some clean waterwells in Malawi four of them to be exactfor about 1 200 people in severaldifferent villages there in Malawi wefunded an orphanage we helped build anorphanage in Honduras with our friendsfrom the hope effect we built anelementary school over in Laos whereRyan just was over there in the fall forthe grand opening of of that and thatwas amazing to see us be able tocontribute to 66 different kids and inin Laos and we also funded a high schoolfor a year and we helped some folks opena coffee shop in st Petersburg Floridaand really it wasn’t just a coffee shopthough the reason that was so appealingis yeah we’re passionate about coffeethat’s great but it was a community hubit was a beautiful space for creativepeople to come together and organize andhave discussions and make the communitya better place and so we found ways tocontribute we spent a year contributingand then this year which is 2016 ourmain focus has been about the thedocumentary that we just put out

Meactually to be more creative so I guesswhat I would tell Evie is constrainyourself sometimes and see how much thatbrings your creativity to life all rightour final question our final question isfrom Vanessa what do you do when a keyfactor of a major passion starts to feelmore like a chore real quick Vanessahere’s what I do I Drudge through thedrudgery that’s all you really can dobecause again passion is not the samething as excitement when I first startedwriting I wanted to put my head througha wall 80 of the time but I was willingto keep doing the work to keep drudgingthrough the drudgery because that extra20 was the best feeling in the worldthat was the real payoff so you have toDrudge through the drudgery even nowwriting for me is a chore 50 of thetime and I don’t think it gets muchbetter than that so whatever yourpassion is there are going to be choresinvolved with that things that you don’tnecessarily like to do but that’s okaybecause the real payoff comes onceyou’re willing to put in the work okaynow it’s.
